Cobh GAA Night at the Dogs Launch Night

On Friday the 11th of July a launch event took place for the Cobh GAA Night at the Dogs fundraising event in the club pavilion. The Night at the Dogs event is being organized to support club development and the continued improvement of Cobh GAA’s facilities. The Fundraising event takes place in Curaheen Park on the 19th of September.

In attendance at the launch night were Ray and Maura Keating (Keatings Londis Plus) main sponsors of the event, Frank O’Meara, Commercial Manager Curaheen Park and members of the Fundraising and Development committees from Cobh GAA along with members from the juvenile and camogie section of the club.

John O’Keeffe, Cobh GAA Chairman welcomed everyone to the launch night and especially thanked Ray & Maura Keating for coming on board and being the main sponsor of the event. John concluded by saying, “I am really looking forward to the night at the dogs event and to kicking off development activities within the club.”

Frank O’Meara then spoke and wished Cobh GAA every success on the night. Earlier in the night Frank had presented Ray and Maura with the main sponsor dog jacket containing the main sponsor business details that will be worn by all winning greyhounds on the night.

Ray Keating then spoke about the importance and value that Keatings place on supporting the local community in Cobh and how they have continued to do this over the years by providing employment and supporting events in the community. Ray stated that Keatings were delighted to be the main sponsor of the event, “The fact that this event is supporting the development of Cobh GAA and its facilities really appealed to me, as so many in the community will benefit from the improvement of the facilities in the club. Along with this my own grandson plays for the club and I am delighted to know that he will benefit from the development of the facilities within the club.”

Finally Pete Drumgoole, Cobh GAA Vice-Chairman explained that the Night of the Dogs event is being organized to support club development and the continued improvement of Cobh GAA’s facilities so that the club can provide the best possible facilities for players, club members and the broader community in Cobh that will take Cobh into the next 10 years and beyond. Pete went on to explain, “Major fundraising events like this are necessary in order to fund the continued development of our club facilities. The development of our club facilities along with the coaching work which is taking place at underage level will enable the improvement in performance and success for the club in the future. Thank you all for investing in the future of Cobh GAA.”
