Cobh lose out to Carrigtwohill in East Cork Quarter Final

Cobh went into the game against their closest rivals only six days after the East Cork Final loss to Castlemartyr. It was always going to be tough with the football team only getting together once in the two months prior to the hurling final.  Although the short turnaround did not allow for much preparation the management and players gave it their all. From the start it was obvious Carrrig had a lot more work done, they had been knocked out of hurling an earlier stage and had managed to play a game prior to this encounter. Cobh went four points down without a score early on but a change in tactics from management saw them put pressure on the opposition. It was tough going for Cobh throughout the game but a halftime change brought a bit more life into the attack. Cobh snatched a goal in the second half and it looked as though they might drive on and take the game, however Carrig remained strong and ran out three point winners with a final scoreline Carrigtwohill 0-13 cobh 1-07
