Our first league game versus league leaders Shamrocks turned out be a fabulous game of hurling, regardless of the final score it was a tight game to the end, our desire to get back on terms late on left us exposed at the back conceding a goal and two points in the dying minutes. An evenly matched first half saw us as expected for our first outing rusty in front of goal. Some solid defending as always by Dave O Connor and Cillian Histon coupled with great service provided by Half backs Mark Hayes, Shane Cullimore and William Ireland gave our forwards plenty to do but only scoring 1.01 left us down a point. The start of the second half belonged to our hosts who stormed into a six point lead, saw us chase to the final whistle, with a final scoreline of 2-07 to 3-10.
