Cobh would have been looking for a tough last encounter before championship and that's exactly what they got on a very warm Saturday evening last after the long trip to Dromina. With a couple of players returning from injury, this was a last chance to impress before the first round game versus Bride Rovers.
Adam McCarthy opened Cobh's scoring with 2 pointed frees but a lapse at the back allowed Dromina in for an early goal. Walden Drake was forced off through injury and Jamie Moynihan showed well in at midfield. Cobh responded immediately with a Conor Farrell point but it was the home team which took the game to Cobh and took the chances that came their way from placed balls and from play. Cobh finished the half strongly with scores from Cian Spriggs, Darragh O'Keeffe and Darragh Kelleher to leave it at 1-6 to 0-8 to the hosts.
The second half proved a tight affair with both defences playing well. Allen Walley, Rory O'Connell and Seamus Ryan were particularly effective. Cobh finished the half strongly again with a well finished move to the Dromina net from O'Keeffe. With full time approaching Dromina were one point up but Spriggs took a fine point to earn a draw 1-12 apiece.
