The year got even better for our U12 hurlers when they followed last month's day out in Croke Park with another in Semple Stadium on Tuesday last. Following a stadium, indoor training area & dressingroom tour accompanied by Tipp inter-county hurlers Cathal Barrett & Denis Maher, the lads got to play three short matches in the "Home of Hurling" arena and competed very well during their contests with Crecora of Limerick, St Patrick's of Waterford and Inagh Kilnamona of Clare, coming away with no less than two victories and a draw for their efforts. Mind you, our games were the last to be scheduled for the day and when the time came round, the lads were bursting to hit the field and hurl the sliothar. Cathal Barrett & Denis Maher also got a question time grilling in the dressingroom about the upcoming Cork v Tipp SHC semi-final but gave away very little except to advise the lads that they should always focus on their own game & performance and not to worry about the "other fella". Our thanks to the Club and Sean Crowley (East Cork GDA) for enabling these memorable days out to happen for the lads.
